Buyer

EMT International is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team.
Buyers play a crucial role in purchasing raw materials, parts, and supplies that go into the machines we build and to support our manufacturing operation.
You will be responsible for ordering materials to arrive at our factory floor by the need-by date.
This role requires knowledge of sourcing strategies, negotiation, planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:
Purchase materials, components, buy-out equipment, made-to-print parts and services.
Apply total cost approach is used to evaluate supplier price, service levels and quality and makes balanced decisions on supplier selection.
Attend cross-functional team meetings and support parts flow to manufacturing operations and resolve escalated supplier issues.
Collaborate with other departments surrounding new supplier additions, and cost reduction efforts.
Prepare reports, value analysis studies, and perform other procurement duties as assigned.
Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing and other terms of purchase and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner.
Follows-up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment and record-keeping.
Maintain supplier price list records overseeing lead times and pricing is accurate.
Expedite or postpone orders as needed to ensure timely receipt of materials based on production schedule.
Monitor and update confirmations and commit dates on purchase orders.

Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelors degree in business or supply chain field or 1 or more years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment Proficient in Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel Experience in Epicor or similar ERP System is preferred Skilled at planning and organizing work with ability to manage priorities and deadlines in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment Ability to analyze data and conduct bid analysis to support balanced purchasing decisions.
